January 2026

Down at Hillhaven Leonbergers they have welcomed a lovely litter from Kya and Bubba ( Leokings Centre Stage) 10 puppies 6 boys and 4 girls . Congratulations Mandy and Willie .  Kya and puppies are doing really well.

On a sad note Tony ( Leokings Explorer ) has passed on to Rainbow Bridge.  Tony was from our litter from Prada and Yogi born in 2014. Simon wrote a lovely send off for him which I include here.

Leokings Explorer aka ‘Tony’, formerly the puppy ‘Green Boy’ with his little green wool tie, has headed off to Doggy heaven today, having spent 11.5 wonderful years as part of our family, up here in Donegal.
He’ll no doubt be looking forward to meeting up with Mum – Prada & Dad – Yogi, and his other brothers and sisters that have headed off to rest. He is survived by Granny and Grandad Jacqui and Tom lol
What a blessing the Leonberger truely is! A chance meeting of one in the back of a pick-up in Strabane, Co.Tyrone, a message left on the windscreen, a reply from the owner saying ‘its a Leonberger’ and the love affair started.
Interest peaked when we reached out to Leokings in Co. Longford, just to ask about the breed, pro’s con’s etc etc and the info coming back just blew us away. (Jacqui knows her stuff).
Completely unbeknown to us at the time, but a litter was also on the way, and the invite to visit was offered. Turns out my wife and I where actually being assessed for worthiness lol (Garda Vetting springs to mind just kidding). Such was their love of these animals, that Jacqui and Tom made sure they were going to the right type of dog owners, and low and behold we were accepted.
Tony was a proper gent, amazing temperament, so intelligent and loving, and please don’t let the beautiful pictures misguide you, as most of the time he was bogging! A stream to the side of our house, and mucky shuck to the back, leading into a small forest was were he spent most of his time. You can imagine the rest! But oh my what a happy fella he was.
A celebrity to the kids on the street, and a best friend, to our daughter who came along out of the blue, (after we decided to get a big proper dog ofcourse), cos kids didnt seem to be on the menu. lol
Sleep easy “my aul buddy”, ‘Tony the Pony’ or as we always called him ‘Big T’
❤️❤️❤️
PS Thanks Jacqui and Tom for trusting us with one of your grand kids
We know he will be much missed by is and all who loved and knew him and the many kids who he loved to visit with . Have fun over the Rainbow Bridge Tony .
