April 2019

Our big Tassu has gone . He had a problem with discs and nerves and after a bad fall , it was impossible to control his awful pain .He was a one in a million dog , and our hearts have broken . A successful show dog , but his heart was never in showing and he became the best Therapy dog one could wish for . He was drawn to children and was able to work with many who had been terrified of dogs , and was instinctively able to discern how far he was able to go with calming them . He would sit or lie down and to see the children smile and giggle as they stroked him was amazing . He really did have the best temperament a dog could have , totally calm and non reactive , and as our vet described him , a real gentleman . We feel blessed to have shared our lives with him and will never forget him . He lives on in his marvelous offspring , and we feel lucky to have Baloo and Jasmine from him .

One of our favourite photos of Tassu .

Whilst all this was going on , Asha was very unwell and developed sepsis and mastitis in a mammary gland . As it had been several months since her litter , we were very worried that there could be some underlying condition causing it . She was in the vets on a drip with heavy antibiotics but thankfully has pulled through and totally back to normal and it was nothing more than a very bad infection .

On a happy note , Kobo ( Leokings Too much Temptation for Hillhaven ), went Best Baby puppy in Show in Wexford . He loves the show ring and we will watch his progress with pride .
